What do actresses do when they cross thirty or get married? They either go on to do 'Amma' or 'Anni' roles or look after hearth and home. But there are some actresses who dare to be different. Like Radhika, Revati or Suhasini who act in meaningful roles on the small screen, and produce TV serials. Revati has gone one step forward. The actress has now turned to direction. And her first film is to be in English. Produced by Telephoto Entertainments, the production company jointly owned by her and hubby Suresh Menon, Revati was in America cruising around for locations and arranging other details.
Another highlight of the venture is that the technical crew is to be an entirely female one. The story about an indian couple based in America and their struggle to come to terms with life there, is written by Priya. Priya had worked as an apprentice to Maniratnam, assisted Suhasini for 'Indira'. She is now into directing a serial for the small screen. Cranking the camera will be Fausia, who has had her training under ace cameraman PC Sriram. And making up the faces of the artists will be Rita. Revati, apart from directing the film, will pen the screenplay and the dialogue. The film to be shot in America, has Shobhana playing the female protagonist. The hero is to be from Mumbai. One is sure that with her experience, her sincerity of purpose and the urge to do something different, Revati will not disappoint her audience.
