Rahman is back
 Having left his footprints on Chinese soil in connection with the music score for the Chinese film, 'Tian di ying xiong' (Warriors of Heaven and Earth), A R Rahman was back in Chennai to leave his footprints in a Chennai DVD studio. Only for a short time though.
The music director was at Cinema Paradiso, the DVD shop in Chennai, to leave impressions of his feet and hands for posterity at the Hall of Fame.
Rahman was supposed to drop in at the DVD shop at 10.00 hrs. And most people thought he would be late since he is known to be a late riser! That is considered an understatement in the film industry. For he is known to hit the sack only at around 5 or 6 in the morning.
 However, he took everyone by surprise by landing up at the Alwarpet shop 15 minutes ahead of time. He came, entered the shop and left -- all of it taking just a couple of minutes. A number of celebrities missed him by the proverbial whisker.
According to a source close to Rahman, he never slept and that was how he made it to the shop in time! He had worked all night, and had to catch a flight around 10.30 hrs for Mumbai. So, he made a slight detour, landed up at the shop as promised, and left for the airport straightaway to catch the Mumbai flight.
The other celebrities to have left their 'impressions' at the shop were Kamal Hassan and
Maniratnam.
Santhosh, who runs Cinema Paradiso, said the shop is all set to launch an exclusive section on music videos. This section will have rare music videos from Madonna to Britney Spears, from Backstreet Boys to Nsync, AC/CD and Eagles. It will have over 250 music titles under one roof.
