'Minnale' audio cassette release

Madhavan is the flavour of the season, with his zesty portrayal in Maniratnam's Alai Payuthe. Among the films he has signed is Minnale. Reema the popular model from Mumbai (45 ad films, music videos, and heroine of the Telugu film 'Chitram') makes her debut in Tamil.

Abbas is also in the film. Minnale is directed by Gautam Vasudev who has had his apprenticeship with Rajiv Menon. The film has many other firsts. This is Gautam's first film. Apart from wielding the megaphone, he writes the story and the screenplay.

The film is photographed by cinematographer Rajasekhar. Rajasekhar has worked as an assistant cameraman to Rajeev Menon and this is his first independent effort. Composing the music is Harris Jairaj, who was a keyboard player with A.R. Rehman and others. The lyrics are written by Vali. The songs are sung by Harish Ragavandera and Timmi, Bombay Jayashri ,Unnikrishnan,Shanker Mahadevan,Tippu,Clinton, Harini, Roopkumar Rathod and Devan. Minnale is produced by DR. Murali Manohar of CEE (I) TV entertainment Ltd. who was co-producer of such films as Jeans and independently produced Jodi and Kadhal Kavithai.

The audio Cassette of the film was released in Chennai at a glittering function attended by many stalwarts of the film industry. Present were actors Madhavan, Vikram, Manoj and Vivek among others. Heroine Reema didn't make an appearance. Abbas too was away shooting. Directors Balaji (who is directing 'Samurai' with Vikram) Jai Suresh (director of Madhavan - Sneha starrer 'Ennavale') Producers pyramid Natarajan, and Alayam Sriram was also present. Clippings of the dance sequences from the film were screened. The songs were sung live by Harish and other singers while dance choreographer Brinda's troupe danced to the tunes.

Says director Gautam - "Minnale is all about chance. The hero takes a chance to get close to a girl. Abbas too tries to be friendly. But it isn't a love triangle in the routine way. Madhavan plays a carefree jovial character here who doesn't believe in love. Till cupid decides to intervene - and lightning strikes."

Says music composer Harris Jairaj, " I have worked as a keyboard player with many music directors including A.R. Rehman. I have tried to bring in my own individual style and a variety in my tunes."

Says hero Madhavan, "It is one of the few films I've signed after Alai Payuthe. I liked the subject the moment Gautam narrated it to me .I have got a very interesting role here."
