K. Balachander to be felicitated

K. Balachander, the legend icon in the map of Tamil filmdom, will be felicitated in a spectacular event to be held in Kuwait today (30th). This unique function has been organized, in Kuwait, to recognize and felicitate renowned film director K. Balachander who has completed 40 creative years in the field of films, art and media. An incredible 40 long years of expertise, accomplishment and achievements in the field of film, theatre, television and every other aspect of visual art form.
TV and media fame artiste S. Varadharajen, who is famous both for his theatre activities and TV participation, has accompanied K. Balachander to Kuwait to participate in this function. The organizers have planned to release a souvenir on this occasion. The function will be a major occasion where Indians, especially Tamilians residing in the land of Kuwait, have an opportunity to have a get-together with their fellow-folks and witness the event. The function will take place at the Indian Cultural Centre in Kuwait City.
As part of the celebration, a panel discussion has been organized. In the discussion session, various people will talk about the achievements of the director who is a legend in his own way. Following this discussion, there will be a cultural festival. This cultural extravaganza will be performed by the children of the NRIs living in Kuwait. Two books are to be released by director K. Balachander on the occasion. Two Indians, who have been in Kuwait for sometime, have written these books. Writer Rajashekar has come out with books on the lines of a 'Kavathai Thuguppu', while another NRI writer Periyasamy has written a book based on the experiences of various Indians living in the land of Kuwait.
S Varadharajen will be on stage and will deliver a speech. He will also talk about K. Balachander's various art-related aspects. S. Varadharajen's 'United Visuals' is a popular troupe that performs quite a few of its own productions in Chennai. And for S. Varadharajen, Kuwait is a place where he has already staged his play and has also received tons of appreciation. He was in Kuwait in January to stage his production 'Matrum
Palar'.
It might be noted that S. Varadharajen has worked extensively on lead roles in K. Balachander's TV shows that include
'Kadhal Pagadai', 'Kai Alavu Manasu' and 'Premi'. Kuwait based Tamil novelist and writer N. C. Mohandas is the main organizer of the event.
