Teachers Day at MOP
“Teachers are the sculptors of the nation”, said Dr S Radhakrishnan. This is a very true statement. And on Teachers Day students get to show their gratitude to the imparter of knowledge, who shapes their destiny.
The students of III B.Com ‘B’ of M O P Vaishnav College for Women celebrated this event with great pomp and show making this day special for their teachers. They planned a surprise party for their teachers, which was a huge success.
They began the function with the traditional cake-cutting ceremony. And then it was all a gala affair. The students presented their teachers with a beautiful painting-cum-lamp and a greeting card. The youngest teacher in the department, Sundari, cut the cake. Everyone in the beautifully-decorated classroom turned emotional.
“College is home away from home and our teachers are like our mothers. They help us solve all our problems be it personal or educational. They are always there for us. Guiding us. We are very grateful to them”, says V Sandhya. “We are in our final year and we wanted to do something different. We wanted to make our teachers feel special. And this was the best way,” says
Veena.
Head of the department, Gayathri, and the other teachers thanked the students and said it was an unforgettable Teachers Day.
