National Seminar at SMC
The Department of Commerce, Stella Maris
College, is organising a three-day national-level seminar on The Dynamics of Change in Human Resource Management, sponsored by the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia, from September
23-25.
The seminar is designed to enable academicians to develop an improved understanding and deeper insights into personnel in organisations, as the collective effort of the employer and employee plays a crucial role in the highly competitive scenario of the Indian industry today. The working environment is changing and it is more important now, than ever before, that everyone understands this diversity and need for change. The three-day seminar, inaugurated by N Kumar, Vice-Chairman, The Sanmar Group, Chennai, will include a panel discussion on 'Retaining Manpower', and various paper presentations and sessions by eminent speakers and research scholars from manufacturing and service industries, covering the following aspects:

The Valedictory Session will consist of a special address by P K Mahopatra, Managing Director, RPG Enterprises Ltd., Chennai. C Mahalingam, Vice President,
IBM, Bangalore, will deliver the Valedictory Address on the ‘Challenges in
HRM’.
