Training in Drainage Designs
Anna
University, the premier technical education body in Chennai, added a feather to its cap when it concluded a five-week training course for engineers from the
Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board in the construction and design of sewerage systems for various towns.
The training course, organised by the Centre for Environment Studies of
Anna University, enlightened the engineers on the latest and new expertise in the area of sewerage management and water recycling in various towns in the state.
Sh. Nagabhushana Rao, an organising faculty from the apex educational body, said in his presidential address that water was becoming a scarce commodity and therefore the reuse of used water in the cities gained importance. He added that getting back to nature was not easy in the light of conventional water conservation practices.
S Mohamad Abdul Wahab, Engineering Director, Tamilnadu Water Supply and Drainage Board, was the chief guest of the day and gave away certificates to the participating engineers.
The training was attended by 30 engineers from the
Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board and they expressed their happiness over getting acquainted with the latest expertise in the field of water which is turning out to be a great challenge for mankind.
