Shabnam Resources, a social service
organisation of Chennai, is to organise a workshop on November
30, 2007 on preventing school dropouts.
Titled 'Re-enrgising Walkout (Dropout)
Children and Youth Toward Better Learning', the workshop will be
addressed by Dr SUbash Rawat of New Delhi, an exponent in
blending theatre techniques with learning skills.
The major intention of the workshop is to
train trainers, who will be teachers and animators, to train
people to deal with children who drop out of schools and
"rekindle the spirit of learning to help continue their
studies", says a note from Shabnam Resources director M R
Hubert.
Rawat would be using theatre techniques,
activities and games and process analysis to instruct the
trainers.
The trainers would be coached in such a way
that they would be able to train teachers and animators and
possibly "network to ensure the walk out rate reduces".
Shabnam Resources, a registered non-profit
organisation, is to hold the workshop from 9.30 a.m. to 1.30
p.m. at:
Old No. 5, Buddha Street,
Kodambakkam,
Chennai - 600 024.
Phone: 24721379/64547089,
"Since it is a free programme and seats
are limited, those who wish to participate in it should register
early," adds the note from Hubert.
