Mechanica is back in Chennai. From March 9 to 11, 2007, at IIT Madras. Vroom goes that car! How many times have you turned your head in awe at a really cool car going at great speed? All those times you gaped at that car wondering what is it that drives it, is it the energy of the driver or in that IC engine? Well, it's both. If you have got the drive to set an IC engine reeling at speeds like your adrenalin, 'Formula-1' is for you. One
is talking not of Michael Schumacher's guts, but those of a cool engineer filled with passion for challenge. This brand new event is just one more reason for you to be present at Mechanica 2007, apart from fun, frolic and laughter.
Mechanica is the technical festival of mechanical engineering, presented by Mechanical Engineering Association (MEA), the largest of its kind at IIT Madras. A fest aimed at students who are more enthusiastic about getting their hands on. For all of you enthusiasts who wonder if your courses teach you practical realities, if after all these years of mechanical engineering courses would you survive in real life scenarios, come and test yourself.
Well, real life is not all that perfect and things go wrong. Check out if you can fix engines and machines and 'Make Things Work', come along and participate in that event. Analyse 'How Things Work'.
And those of you wonder whether your courses on manufacturing and design teach you how to design simple things like a keychain, check out all the design events lined up like designing a camera crane for 'E Design', or try thinking out of the box for designs of tree climbers and water regulators in 'Innovations'. Simulate your neurons with an aesthetic sense for kaleidoscopic views in 'Simulation Championship'.
Robo-soccer is all set to get your gears reeling for setting yet another standard in the level of competition and applauding the intellect in 'Robotics'. And as un-nerving as ever is the series of energy transformations leading to a simple task in Tom-and-Jerry style, except a bit more nail-biting is 'Contraptions'.
