Entrepreneurship workshop at Stella
Brain Sculptures, a leading management consultant providing human resource solutions to corporates, conducted a small workshop on entrepreneurship for students of Stella Maris College on November 25, 2006. The event was adressed by the CEO of the Brain Sculptures, C Chandramohan.
During this workshop-cum-camp on enterpreneurship organised by the entrepreneurship cell of Stella Maris College in colloboration with National
Society for Entrepreneurship Development, important topics on entrepreneurship like entrepreneurship skills, business policy and customer management were discussed.
Chandramohan, who has vast industrial experience in diverse areas, spoke on topics like business opportunities identification and Swot analysis. His lively presentation on 4-corner formula in business policy left the audience enthralled. He gave a practical explanation and interacted with students on various components of business policy like selection of project, cash spending, cash generation and size of project. He further stressed on important concepts like new venture and market share.
While handling business opportunities identification he made the students to understand the importance of risk-taking and quipped that risks are always there whether the project's value was Rs 1 lakh or Rs 1 crore. He said innovativeness was very important for risk-taking.
After explaining Swot analysis in detail, he also spoke on customer management and gave a brief explanation on the different behaviours of customers like knowledgable customers, ego customers, timid customers and friendly customers.
Dr Geetha Swaminathan, project director of Stella Maris, said Brain Sculptures has proposed a business plan competetion for students of the college by January 2007. Chandramohan added that apart from distributing prizes, the best projects will be recommended to commercial banks for venture capital and financial assistance.
