 MAC Charities Trust awards
 The MAC Charities Trust conferred awards on former Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court, Justice P R Gokulakrishnan, Tamil scholar Suki Sivam and publisher Vanathi Y Thirunavukarasu at a function held at Raja Annamalai Manram in Chennai on October 12, 2006.
Former judge of the Madras High Court, Justice K S Bhaktavatsalam, presented a shawl, a scroll of honour and Rs 50,000 each to the three recipients.
The 2006 Dr Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar award was conferrred on Justice Gokulakrishnan for his services in the cause of promotion of Tamil language and culture.
The Dr M A Chidambaram Chettiar award went to Suki Sivam for his role in spiritual and human resource development.
The Dr A C Muthiah award was presented to Thirunavukarasu for his contribution as a publisher especially since he was a first-generation entrepreneur.
The president and managing trustee of the MAC Charities Trust, A C Muthiah, Devaki Muthiah and Aswin Muthiah referred to the stellar contribution of the three recipients.
Justice Gokulakrishnan and Justice Bhaktavatsalam referred to the immense contribution of Annamalai Chettiar and his family to the task of promotion of Tamil language and culture.
