Paul Vaughan, New Zealand's Trade Commissioner to India, said, "New Zealand is increasingly gaining popularity as a preferred destination in education since we began these fairs six years ago. We are witnessing a substantial growth in the number of visa applications year-on-year. Though the numbers are small presently, there is potential for growth."

He added, "There is a huge demand for skilled workforce in New Zealand and a lot of Indians are currently contributing to the burgeoning New Zealand economy. We hope these fairs would act as a stepping stone for other Indian students who would want to take advantage of global education and work in an international environment."

Educational institutions in New Zealand offers various courses, including Business Studies, Engineering, IT& Computing, Food & Dairy Technology, Plant Science and Horticulture, Hospitality & Hotel Management, Nursing, Viticulture, Forestry, Sports Management and many more. Expert counsellors at the fair will address students' queries on visa, accommodation, fees, food, climate and support services.

All the New Zealand universities, government-funded polytechnics, institutes of technology and a number of private technical education providers are participating in the fair. These institutions offer courses of study accredited by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority, and are signatories to New Zealand's mandatory Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students. New Zealand is known for its hospitality, friendliness, spectacular scenery, love for sports and offers Indian students an internationally recognised education in a secure, multicultural environment, the spokesperson said.
