Lucy English, performance poet and novelist, was born in Sri Lanka and grew up in the UK. Lucy's work is featured in the Oral Anthology (Sceptre 2000) and in Shortfuse (2002).

She She will also lead an interesting 'Spoken Word' workshop for schoolchildren titled 'Focussing on Language' at the British Council on 2 March from 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. Her workshops are devised to encourage the exploration of different types of language - statements, questions, exclamations and commands thus empowering all participants to write a performance poem using their new understanding of the language.

Apples & Snakes, UK, have helped the British Council in organising the Spoken Word series of Buzz.
