In 1985 she moved to Bristol and worked on the Windmill Hill City Farm until 2000 while she completed MA in creative writing.
She has three novels published - Selfish People, Our Dancing Days and Children of Light - and is currently working on a fourth. She is a part-time tutor in English and Creative Writing at Bath Spa University College where she is committed to introducing performance poetry onto the syllabus.

Lucy's work is featured in the Oral Anthology (Sceptre 2000) and in Shortfuse (2002).
She comes to India to perform at Buzz following her visit to Sri Lanka. She She will also lead an interesting 'Spoken Word' workshop for schoolchildren titled 'Focussing on Language' at the British Council on 2 March from 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. Her workshops are devised to encourage the exploration of different types of language - statements, questions, exclamations and commands thus empowering all participants to write a performance poem using their new understanding of the language.
Apples & Snakes, UK, have helped the British Council in organising the Spoken Word series of Buzz.
