Seminar on Security
The Department of International Studies, Stella Maris College is organising a two-day national seminar on 'Comprehensive Security Issues and Challenges: An Indian Perspective' at the Stella Maris College, Chennai, on 6 & 7 January 2005.
The contemporary discourse on security in the 21st century has shifted its templates from the traditional concept of military security to encompass a more comprehensive field of study that includes various non-traditional threats. The global security environment is in a state of flux with emerging milieu of politico, military and diplomatic dimensions. There has been a perceptible change in the approach to security where the individual has become the vortex of so-called human security.
