Anna University singed MoU with five universities in the US,
namely Stephenson, Texas, Boston, Michigan and Nebraska, last
week in for connection with research and higher education.
It is the first university in the country to sign MoU with
top-level universities in the US, said Vice-Chancellor, Prof D
Viswanathan.
Addressing journalists at Ooty, he said a recent opinion
poll, conducted by two prominent magazines in the country, has
revealed that Anna University stands first in technology
education and research.
Many leading multi-level companies have come forward to
conduct campus interviews at Anna University and job was assured
for those who take up studies in Anna University, he said. He
stated that as a part of the expansion programme, the government
has sanctioned Rs 200 crore for construction of a new building
for the university and the complex would house separate parks
for bio-technology, nano-technology, aero-technology and
information technology. While claiming that quality of
education in government-run engineering colleges had improved,
he said a course on communication skills has been made
