Technology (IT) professionals and aspirants as insiders of the industry predict a boom in the field by the year 2010, with its onset from around 2005.

India, shared this thought of his while delivering the inaugural address at 'Sai Techcellence' in
Sairam Engineering
College, situated near Tambaram, on July 28, 2004. Throwing light on the present IT trends, Panicker said that technology was becoming a commodity and therefore created great openings for new jobs, and that too in multitudes.
He said 2010 marked the beginning of vast opportunities in the field of IT. Rendering valuable inputs to students on education, Panicker insisited on the need to have a graduation in management for students of IT to achieve greater heights in the field.
The Principal of the college, Dr.Seetharaman, was present on the occasion.
The 'Sai Techcellence', a national-level technical symposium organised by the IT department of the
college, was a day-long affair with various academic activities such as paper presentation, programming and quiz related to the field. Students from various engineering colleges participated in the
programme.
