The manner in which students were made to run from pillar to post for admissions this year, has created a wave of anger in several sections of society. Giving vent to his feelings on the plight of students and parents, M S Moorthy, senior counsel and legal consultant in Chennai, said that "students were footballed among various benches of the courts."
Speaking at a legal awareness programme held at Guru Shree Shantivijai Jain College for Women, Moorthy gave a detailed talk on various legal implications facing the youth and the need for a moral point to be upheld even while facing a legal challenge.
Throwing light on the parental issues as well, Moorthy said parents should act as catalysts thereby guiding the students towards shaping their future. Giving his advise to students on their future, he added that they should not be influenced by others and instead should maintain an identity of their own. He also regretted that the contemporary student community was "upstartish", that demanded results very quickly, that too without hard work. Nevertheless, he hoped that with proper guidance, students would chalk out a better future.
