Announcing the launch of the publication in Chennai on January 5, 2006, he said the magazine was targeted at the everyday home and office computer user.

“The common man is often confused and scared of technology. Computeractive simplifies technology, makes it easy to understand and puts the fun back in computing,” he said.

NGPL, a joint venture between Forbes Group and HDFC Ltd Enterprise, also publishes exclusive magazines on photography, car and motorbike markets in India. It had already launched Forbes Yellow pages in Ahmedabad and New Delhi with an Internet version supported by SMS.
