Comp mag launched in Chennai
Mumbai-based Next Gen Publishing Ltd (NGPL) has launched UK’s best selling computer magazine in India.
Priced at Rs 60 per copy, ‘Computeractive’, is the flagship magazine of VNU Business Publications, GPP, London, and is published in 19 countries including the UK, Holland, Spain, Italy, Indonesia, Greece and South Africa.
To begin with, 50,000 copies will be sold in India, Hoshang S Billimoria, CEO of
NGPL, said.
Announcing the launch of the publication in Chennai on January 5, 2006, he said the magazine was targeted at the everyday home and office computer user.
“The common man is often confused and scared of technology. Computeractive simplifies technology, makes it easy to understand and puts the fun back in computing,” he said.
NGPL, a joint venture between Forbes Group and HDFC Ltd Enterprise, also publishes exclusive magazines on photography, car and motorbike markets in India. It had already launched Forbes Yellow pages in Ahmedabad and New Delhi with an Internet version supported by
SMS.
