West Indies retain same squad
Kingston (Jamaica), June 29: The West Indies have retained the same squad for the fourth and final cricket Test against India beginning here tomorrow. The selection panel of John Carew, Gordon Greenidge and Clyde Butts and coach Bennett King have reposed faith in the squad selected for the Third Test at Warner Park in St Kitts.
This means left-arm spinner Dave Mohammed remains out despite his creditable performance with the bat as well as ball in the first Test. Mohammed was dropped after he was hit for consecutive sixes by Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the first Test, though he took one for 24 in the first innings and three for 162 in the second innings besides scoring a half century.
Carew, convenor of selectors, said the West Indies team was on the upgrade and would be looking for victory at Sabina
Park
The squad: Brian Lara (captain), Ramnaresh Sarwan (vice-captain), Chris Gayle, Daren Ganga, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Runako Morton, Marlon Samuels, Dwayne Bravo, Denesh Ramdin, Ian Bradshaw, Pedro Collins, Corey Collymore, Jerome Taylor. (Agencies)
