Melbourne, Feb 22 Former New Zealand coach Steve Rixon is joining the Hyderabad team of the lucrative Indian Cricket League.

"I see my appointment as a nice little challenge," Rixon said.

"I've agreed to sign on for as long as they want me and I'm comfortable with the financial arrangement," he was quoted as saying by 'The Australian'.

Rixon did not reveal the amount he will earn under the privacy clause of his contract, a well-placed ICL source said the deal was worth close to a million Australian dollars for his full three-year term.

Rixon will have former New Zealand Test all-rounder Chris Harris as captain, replacing former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul Haq. (Agencies)
