Yes, facts to be known, not to boast or brag;
Well, with Independence day around the corner,
The flag does symbolise the nation’s honour.
The Chinese and Indians did embark
Inventing flags making their mark;
Over three thousand years marks the advent
Of the flags that they did indeed invent.
Conveying many a message and story
About culture, country and history.
For, by a flag, a peasant knew
The descent of a nobleman true.

Indicates that country to be the winner and best.
At UN headquarters, flags are equal in height
Symbolising each nation’s equality and right.
Ships use flags for communication and more
At positions different called semaphore.
Albeit an innocuous cloth soaring high
A complex story behind each flag does lie.
