There was more than a dash of colour and fizz as the Fairever Girls and Glory contest for Chennai girls got underway at the Image Auditorium in MRC Nagar today.
Students from girls colleges and girls from co-ed colleges vied for honours in
music, Antakshri,
dance, T-shirt painting competitions organised by Cavin Kare Ltd.
The Antakshri competition had girls' colleges represented by three members each. Cheers, slogans greeted the girls as they reeled off song after song.
The dance section was varied. Girls tried their hand at Western style dancing, the
rap and the time-tested, Indian treasure, Bharatanatyam.
Tomorrow is the second day of the contest when the prizes would be decided. The girls will provide lots more fun, lots more entertainment as the students root for their colleges.
On October 14, the girls will be tested in popular events like Face Painting, Antakshri Finals, Audience Games, Fashion Show. The much-awaited award ceremony is scheduled for 1900 hrs.
