Dublin, the exceptional Irish pub-cum-nightclub at the Park Sheraton Hotel is making waves again. This time the new dancing troupe ‘Contrast’ from London is causing the buzz. Beautiful and vivacious dancers Penny Rigden, Kim Lambourne and Rebecca Stokes are performing every night till
27th of October from 7.30 to 10.30 pm.
What is unique about the trio’s performance is their enthusiasm and their spontaneous reach-out to the audience. Most of their items involve participation by members of the audience. They manage to bring a few men and women from the audience on to the stage and make them perform with them. The Line-Dancing item had a few guests on the stage along with the dancers. They were thought simple steps in a few minutes and soon they were dancing along.
The fast and jumpy Can-Can show had three enterprising men from the audience up on the stage. With expert guidance these men picked up quite fast. What made their act more fun was that the men donned striking skirts handed out by the dancers. The three gentlemen swaying to the fast beat with the gorgeous British dancers were having as much fun as the audience enjoying the incredible sight of Chennai men doing a Can-Can.
Multi-talented Penny, Kim and Rebecca are great entertainers in the traditional sense. Their repertoire includes the Can-Can, Charlston, Line-Dancing, Medieval Banquets, Hollywood tap, Old Time Music Hall and many more. They have performed at many prestigious places including Hampton Court Palace, Great Dorset Steam Fair, London Hilton and a number of theaters in Britain. Enjoying Chennai on this maiden visit, they look forward to coming back soon, preferably for a longer stretch.
