Scotch lovers and party enthusiasts had gathered at the Flame recently on the occasion of Teacher's Achievers Night, organised by Allied Domecq Spirits and Wine (I) Private Limited to celebrate the spirit of achievement in every individual. All hell broke loose on the dance floor as DJ Megha pumped up the volume with some great foot-tapping tracks. Getting caught in the intoxication of pure fun, party hoppers swayed to the notes of awesome music till the wee hours of the morning.
However, the spotlight was on celebrity bartender Sandy and his team. They not only performed a scintillating dance to the Teacher's signature tune but also amazed the guests with their juggling acts at the bar including the famed fire-act. The team also whipped up a range of innovative Teacher's Scotch-tails which included Passion Fling, Scotch Julep, Scotch Velvet, Scotch Curacao Fizz, Manhattan, God Father and Blue Blazer. Srilant Illuri, Chief Executive Officer, Allied Domecq Spirits and Wine (I) Pvt Ltd., said, "Celebrations and Achievement go hand in hand and Scotch is an integral part in toasting both. Tonight is a salute from Teachers to the achiever in all Chennaites". The Teacher's Achievers Night was held in Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore before coming to Chennai. Several more events are scheduled in major towns of the country. Megha was DJ for over five years at 1900s, Hotel Taj Mahal, Mumbai, one of the biggest night clubs in India -- a membership club by invitation. After she took up freelancing, Megha performed at the Mirage and Delhi's Devil in Delhi, at the Incognito and London Pub in Kolkata, at EC 41 and Gatsby 2000 at Chennai, Critical Mass in Indore, Cascades in Sri Lanka, at the Privilege in Dhaka. She has performed for more than 300 hundred private parties throughout India. She was the finalist at the Femina Miss India and had also won the Femina Miss India Talented 2001. She took up modelling from 2001, working with the best choreographers and designers in India. Presently, Megha is a Resident DJ at a new club called Mikanos in Mumbai which was launched on March 1, 2002. Mikanos is in a mill compound in a warehouse and has state-of-the-art light and sound system (turbo sound and claypaky) and accommodates around 2,000 people. So, currently she moves constantly from Mikanos to modelling, catwalk, press, ad films abd gigs throughout India.
