Woes of Adambakkam residents - Suggestions

As a resident of a place near Adamabakkam but now living in Singapore, I would like to comment on this article. I agree with your view on the Maduvangarai water problem. But I do not agree on your idea about having a subway there. There is a subway that is long pending in Mount and there is a lot of problem on and off with Madhi theatre having a stayorder to prevent it. There is also a subway approval for Thillai Ganga Nagar which is in between Mount and Palavanthangal station.

The subway in Maduvangarai if materialises will lead you into the maze in between GST Road and Adambakkam. The only advantage being that the person going to the city can go a very short distance towards Tambaram to Kathipaara junction and take a U-turn as against the most unfriendly road joinings in case of Mount at the end of Alandur road and those opposite to the Airport junction from Palavanthangal subway.

Of course in a broader perspective every railway gate should have a subway. In Singapore, to solve this problem, the rail line runs either above the ground level or below the ground - thus not affecting the traffic at any spot.

Why should people from Madipakkam go through Mount if the Velachery and Nanganallur side of roads are approachable to them? Why should one promote bringing all the traffic to Mount railway station?

If the people of Adambakkam can have a special bus (it is 4 years now. I think the service no. was 21S) to go to the Secretariat, why don't they use this power to get some good roads done? If Mount subway is stopped primarily because of Madhi theatre, why not people boycott that theatre?
