The idols in the temple are of Lord Rama, his consort Sita, Lakshmana and of course his trusted 'lieutenant' Hanuman. There are separate shrines for 'Garuda' Vishnu's vehicle, Lord Ganesha, serpent God 'Nagar' and Lord Krishna with his consorts.
Milk abishekam was performed to the Lord even before the samprokshanam (consecration ceremony). A koti archana (10 million archanas) chanting his divine names was performed during the whole process. By continuously chanting his name, it increases his 'power' and one could experience the vibration in the hallowed shrine.
In keeping with the present trend, the floor is laid with marble and there is a granite wall inside the sanctum sanctorum. As the Lord is a colossus, a special lift is installed to perform abishekam and to garland him with 'Vadamalai'.
Intricate designs and carvings on the roof is a connoisseur's delight.
The samprokshanam was fixed within a short span of time. A devotee wanted to lay the marble floor as his wishes had been granted by the Lord. It is a token of love for Hanuman. With tons of work to be completed regarding the samprokshanam, the members of the trust that runs the temple surrendered to Lord Anjaneya. Many voluntary organisations and philanthropists were large-hearted enough to assist the trust. The samprokshanam was performed as scheduled without any hassles. The divine touch needs no ocular proof. The great day was May 19, 1995, when the holy place was made even holier.
The samprokshanam was a grand event with thousands thronging the temple to catch a glimpse of the Lord. Several dhanam (donations) sacrifices were done by the temple authorities, invoking divine blessings. As the deity is 32 feet tall, the authorities made it symbolic to donate 32 cows to pundits with sufficient fodder for the cows.
The peedam and the Lord were united by a golden band. The golden band assures a 'golden era' for his devotees.
'Netra Unniyam' or ritualistic opening of the eyes of the Lord was performed. This temple has been built only on rules and not as per the whims and fancies of a person. The trustees have not violated the scriptural guidelines and the priests maintain discipline and purity and conduct the worship in accordance with the directives in the Agamas.
