Sri Guru Vittal Bhajan Samaj are proponents of bhajan tradition. To inculcate the element of bhakthi through bhajan and Nama Sankeerthanam. Guru Vittal Bhajan Samaj has organized a week long Nama Sangeeta Utsav at Narayana Pravachana Mantap, Uttara Guruvayoorappan temple , Nanganallur.

People have evinced interest to participate and listen to Nama Sankeerthana as it amalgamates bhakthi and music Which is the best way of realizing divinity. This bhajan festival incorporates various genres of music like Abhangs , Nama Sankeerthana, Pravachanam etc.



This dawn to dusk music mela is a confluence of spirituality and divine music which has a peaceful co existence. Many savants and exponents of Nama Sankeerthana are participating in the traditional Dakshina Sampradaya Bhajan.

The curtain raiser of the event was an invocation to the dispeller of troubles-Vinayaka .
The musical mela was ignited by paying obeisance to the Guru.
The bhajan coterie propitiated Sathguru Gnananandha giri and invoked his blessings.
This utsav was inaugurated by Muralidhara swamigal a leading exponent of Bhagavatham and a spiritual ranconteur


Ashtapadhi the codified Sanskrit verses which is an emotional out burst of Jayadeva sung in praise of Lord Krishna was brought to life by Thanjavur Thyagaraja Bhagavathar. Though Ashtapadhi is recited by some , it is an aural treat to hear the devout render it musically.

Vittal bhajan mandali of Adambakkm is also credited to have sung this monumental piece of Jayadeva.

Narayana theerthar a staunch devotee of Lord Krishna strung together his lyrical outpourings musically which he referred to as Krishna leela Tharangam. Ramakrishna bhagavathar regaled the audience with his vivid portrayal of tharangam and keerthanas of Bhadrachala Ramdas.Seetha kalyanam was performed musically which was set to different ragas

Bhagavatham which speaks eloquently of Mahavishnus incarnations and extols his virtues was dealt with elaborately by various bhajan schools.
The atmosphere was surcharged with devotion and was abuzz with vedic chants as well.
