Queen's Award

Two years ago, two police officials from Tamil Nadu were the only non-British officers to win the prestigious Queen's Award. Now, K Radhakrishnan, IG (Vigilance), Tamil Nadu, has won the award for the second time! He is the only non-British winner in 2004.

At a special ceremony, the British Deputy High Commissioner for Southern India, Stuart Innes, will present a cheque for Rs 11,70,150 to K Radhakrishnan for his award-winning project.

Innes will also present IT equipment worth about Rs 10,00,000 to S Ramani, Director General of Police (DGP), Training, and project director, Police Academy, Tamil Nadu Police Training College, Chennai, to enhance the resources and training capabilities of the training college.

Special guests on the occasion will include Tamil Nadu government Home Secretary Syed Munir Hoda, DGP I K Govind and Chennai Police Commissioner R Natraj.

The function will take place at 10.45 a.m. May 26, at Cottingley, 20 Anderson Road, Chennai - 6.
