Suchitra: Tides, it was purely by accident. I went to the Mirchi office to be a producer
and they made me an RJ instead!

amazing medium to reach the public. Let me give you an example.
Vijaya: How do u think radio can be a useful media for reaching public for useful
purposes?
Suchitra: Vijaya...we once announced that Banyan needed old clothes desaparately, and
within an hour I got 25 mails asking me for the address . I think that is phenomenal! Dont

Suchitra: Jingles, the first song was a duet with Karthik - for a film called
'lovers'(music director: Yuvan). The song had really funny lyrics - felicon paravaigal!

friend up, so we danced to ''ettana irundha' in the college canteen!

Suchitra: Jingles - if I say 'paatti', these Chennaionline guys will kill me...but thats
the reality....plus people like Harris Jeyaraj and Yuvan who saw me through my teething
troubles in playback...Bharadwaj, who had so much confidence in me to give me my first
solo song...and my Radio Mirchi station head Sharath Chandra who trusts me 100%!
Thamizhan: Why cant u pl avoid ur Brahmin Tamil,,and try
to talk in the standard Tamil which is decent and sweet?
Suchitra: Thamizhan...I'm glad you asked me that...for the past 20+ years I've grown up in
a Brahmin family - to a large extent I do 'localise' my Tamizh, but if it has to be 100%
ME, then there WILL be a trace of the Tamizh I was brought up speaking!

Suchitra: Satishkumar, I love gardening, writing, reading, watching films, cooking,
playing badminton...

Suchitra: Vichu, I've sung quite a few jingles for H.Jeyaraj. He called me one day, played
the tune, asked me to write some Arabic sounding lyrics...and we wrapped up the whole
thing in 20 mins. Never knew it would get so popular!

Bengali patriotic song and we were forced to learn it in school. I'm therefore not the

Suchitra: Muru - I love the paruppu-urundai rasam my paatti makes, my new lemon tree which
refuses to grow, my books, the people at The Banyan, my friends, people at home, my
privacy, my antique Maruti 800...

Yuvan have used my voice even before I joined Mirchi.

amazing - there is so much energy in the air, and we have super fun in the office all the
