Chennai, May 19 : The Dining Room, the award-winning restaurant at Park Hyatt Chennai, will transform into a bustling bazaar of eclectic flavours as it hosts the World Street Food festival. The 10-day long event will feature hawker style cooking of iconic dishes from different countries and cultures.

The festival gives the residents of Chennai a unique opportunity to travel through a world of flavours and experience different culinary cultures without leaving the city. It will feature traditional dishes such as the Kolkata Wrap, Tibetan Momos, Mexican Tacos and Goan Ros Omelettes, among others. In keeping with the theme, there will also be counters for a selection of authentic, regional desserts, exotic ice preparations and a variety of signature lassies, fresh juices and teas.

Speaking about the festival, Chef Teuku Syafrulsyah, Executive Chef, said, “The street food festival is just another step in our continuing quest to offer food lovers in the city access to cuisines and cultures which are not otherwise easily accessible.”

“We offer visitors a unique opportunity to savour street food from different countries, and different parts of India, as they enjoy the authentic street-stall experience from each region. The entire dining experience will be elevated in a manner that is reflective of the Park Hyatt brand.” 

All the dishes will be cooked to order using the freshest ingredients and local cooking techniques reminiscent of authentic street food hawkers. Chef Keerthirajan Kanniappan and Chef Manoj Singh Rawat, both Sous Chefs at The Dining Room, will be in charge of the menu, under the able supervision of Chef Teuku, Executive Chef and Chef Balaji Natarajan, Executive Sous Chef.
