Breaking: Sasikala's nephew TV Mahadevan dies from cardiac arrest

Chennai, April 15: AIADMK General Secretary V.K.Sasikala's nephew T.V.Mahadevan (47) passed away after suffering a massive cardiac arrest at Tiruvidaimaruthur near here today.
Mahadevan, a former State Secretary of Jayalalithaa Peravai, is the son of Ms.Sasikala's second brother Dr.
Mahadevan, who went to Lord Mahalingeswaraswamy Temple at Tiruvidaimaruthur for darshan this morning, complained of chest pain and suddenly collapsed. The body is being brought to his house at Parisutham Nagar in Thanjavur city.
He is survived by his wife M.Chitra Devi and two daughters.
AIADMK's Deputy General Secretary T.T.V.Dinakaran, who is the maternal uncle's son of Mahadevan is rushing to Thanjavur, party sources said here. Besides, State Ministers and senior leaders were also rushing to Thanjavur to pay their homage.
Ms.Sasikala, her nephew V.N.Sudhakaran and J.Elavarasi, widow of Sasikala's brother Jayaraman were presently lodged in Parappana Agrahara jail in Bengaluru after the Supreme Court convicted them for amassing assets disproportionate to their income.
It may be recalled that on December 19, 2011, then AIADMK General Secretary J.Jayalalitha expelled Sasikala, her husband M.Natarajan and 12 of their close relatives, including Mahadevan after a rift. After three months, Jayalalitha re-admitted Sasikala into the party as a primary member and announced that the expulsion of others would continue. However, just after the demise of Jayalalitha, many of the close relatives of Sasikala returned to Poes Garden, where the residence of Jayalalitha is located.
