The name of the album 'Vaasanai'. The Music Director is James Vasanth and the singers are Uma Padmanabhan, Swarnamalaya, Vijay Adiraj, and Vasanth himself. The Lyricist is Yuva Bharathi. Film star Madhavan and Suhasini Manirathnam launched the Album. If several stars were to meet at one place, then the event is bound to be celebrated. And that is exactly what happened in Chennai, on July 17, 2003.
It was a sight to behold. The entire crowd in Spencer Plaza thronged Music World, as Chennai’s heart throb Madhavan and the 'evergreen' Suhasini Manirathnam launched the Tamil pop album ‘Vaasanai’. The names James Vasanth, Uma, Swarnamalaya, Vijay are certainly not new to Chennaiites. These people have already made their mark on the small screen.
For some time at the Music World, people switched off their mobile phones as Madhavan released the first copy of the album and
handed it over to Suhasini. The album sold at jet pace, as the ‘Choo Chweet’ Madhavan signed on the album cover. He did not disappoint those fans who couldn’t get a glimpse of him at the Music World, for the star paraded on the corridors of the Plaza, from Music world to Landmark.
At Landmark, more surprise was in store, as James and Uma sang a few a songs from their debutant album. James, as a music composer, was a revelation to many, and so was Uma’s voice. Vijay Adiraj has sung a few verses in the album.
“I have no knowledge of music. James is a good friend of mine, and he wanted me to sing a few verses, that’s all”, said Vijay.
And to know more about the album, an exclusive interview awaits you. Stay tuned!
