The Duchess Club, a dedicated,
women-empowered team of 300 members, tied up with Sanjeev Kapoor to demonstrate
some mouth-watering recipes from his new Cookery Book 'Microwave Cooking Made
Easy' for all those present at Samavesh Hall, Savera Hotel, Chennai. Mariana
Rosli, wife of Assistant Malaysian High commissioner received the copy from the
Master Chef.
Sanjeev Kapoor demonstrated the
nuances in microwave cooking and answered various queries from the audience on
cooking with a microwave oven. He made it appear than it actually was.
According to Sanjeev Kapoor,
“From popping popcorns, jacket potatoes, soggy foods crisp to re-heating
beverages and food…microwave oven is a fantastic piece of technology. Be it
the Dal or an Irish Coffee, be it the Smoky Fish Kabab or a Vegetable Idli,
microwave cooking is the thing to do!”
Says Nina Reddy, Executive
Director, Hotel Savera and President, Duchess Club, “There are a lot of
mysteries involved with microwave cooking and who better than Master Chef
Sanjeev Kapoor to demystify them. With more women taking to the corporate work
culture, the microvwave cooking is a boon to all those who have little time to
spend on cooking, but still prefer to make and taste food, that is delicious.”
Talking about the book, ‘Microwave
cooking made easy’, Sanjeev said, “This books brings you the mechanics of
microwave cooking that will guide you through tested and recommended procedures
for good results of every recipe. Also included in the preface to the book are
many tips on microwave usage & safety, so as to make microwave cooking an
enjoyable activity for you.”
A microwave oven is
user-friendly, for it can save time, effort, energy, expense and washing-up!
With most women pursuing careers, there is very little time available to prepare
goodies that will keep their families happy and content; hence it is a pleasure
to present a collection of culinary creations that can be prepared in a jiffy
using the microwave oven, explained the organisers.
There are two thoughts on
microwave cooking. Experienced cooks are skeptical while inexperienced cooks are
mystified!
