Airlines has announced the commencement of three additional
services from Chennai, taking the total number to 10 times a
week. In addition to the night flights seven days a week, there
will be morning flights every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday from
Chennai to Singapore.
The airline will use the Boeing
777-200 aircraft with a two-class configuration - 30 Business
and 293 Economy Class seats - for this service, offering more
connection options to several cities in the carrier's global
network especially Australia, New Zealand and the north Asia
region.
The airline will switch to a
three-class seat arrangement from October 2007.
To celebrate this milestone, Singapore Airlines launched its new
in-flight meal option - Popular Local Choice - for its customers
from the region. The new south Indian menu option is a feast in
the sky, its spokesperson said in Chennai. It will comprise a
delectable Indian meal including a regional starter, rice-based
main course and a signature dessert - available to all classes
of customers from October 28, 2007, onwards, said C W Foo,
general manager, India, Singapore Airlines.
Soon, south Indian dishes like idiappam, adai aviyal, Mysore
masala dosai, Malabar paratha and pesarettu will be available on
these flights, he added. R Rangaraj |
