Bhoomika plays TV channel reporter

Tollywood

Except 'Allari', director Ravi Babu has so far had no big film that he can boast of. His last film, 'Party', bombed at the BO. Now the director has come up with another film which has Bhoomika in the lead. She plays a TV channel reporter in the flick. The film, however, has lover boy Abbas donning an important role. Malayali girl Nikita is going to appear as the second lead. The film, which will commence a regular schedule of shooting from June 15, will be wrapped up by August. Ravi Babu and Suresh Babu are together producing the film.

Politics and Tollywood

Writer-turned-director Posani Krishna Murali’s 'Operation Duryodhana' is caught in the web of controversy. Telangana Rastra Samiti (TRS), which is striving for a separate state of Telangana, strongly opposed certain scenes in the film stating that they are hurting the Telangana sentiment. And the result is widespread protests by student organisations who ransacked some theatres and burnt posters of the film. In an interview to a Telugu TV channel, Posani Krishna Murali said, "I didn't make the film to intentionally hurt Telangana people. I am extremely sorry if I had hurt the Telangana people." The director even agreed to delete a few scenes which are said to have hurt them. The film has Srikanth, item girl Mumaith Khan and Kalyani in important roles.

Venkatesh is ever so busy

Venkatesh’s 'Adavari Matalaku Arthale Verule' is running successfully and the actor is now busy with the shooting schedules of his upcoming film tentatively titled 'Tulasi'. The film's shooting has been long overdue for several reasons. Being directed by Boyapati Seenu who made a mark with his debut film 'Bhadra', it has Nayantara playing the female lead once again after 'Lakshmi'. 'Tulasi', which revolves around child sentiment, has music by Devi Sri Prasad.

Gopichand in new avatar

Gopichand has earned the name as a mass hero, and with his last release, 'Okkadunnadu', he made an attempt to come out of the image trap. Now he is gearing up for his next film, 'Lakshyam'. The film is going to be produced by Bujji (the producer of 'Lakshmi') and directed by Sri Vasu, a debutant. "I play a happy and jovial guy in the film. I liked the way the director narrated the script. I didn’t want to do routine mass films and this fits the bill," says the actor. Anushka plays heroine in the film.

Dubai Seenu released at last

Raviteja's 'Vikramarkudu' was a big hit and his next film, 'Khatarnak', proved to be a disaster at the BO. His next film 'Dubai Seenu', whose release was in dilemma in view of the release of Rajinikant’s 'Shivaji', was released at last on June 7. Directed by Seenu Vaitla who surprised one and all with his recent hit film, 'Dhee', the film has Nayantara playing the female lead. Shot in Europe and Dubai, the film has music scored by Mani Sharma. Bhagawan and Danayya produced the film under the Universal Media banner.
